Leave it to Audrey Hepburn to continue to be relevant today!
Here I selected several dozen perfect blushing pink ranunculus petals. These were carefully pressed and dried last spring, and have made it through of proprietary process of multiple resin coatings and UV protection (resin is that amazing material that surfers put on their surfboards to make them shiny, and your windshield chips get filled in with, doesn’t sound very romantic, I know).
Pale pink is such a “hot” color this year! On these little beauties the color progresses from palest cream pink at the tips of petals to a deeper pink at the edges. The natural veining on the petals is very easy to see, and makes it very clear that these are real flowers, no human-made imitations. To get a bit of a variation in the length of the individual pieces in the necklace, I added various number of Swarovski crystals in that elusive “black diamond” shade, as well as some tiny clear seed beads, to not overdo the total sparkle.
Matching earrings. Enough said. This one of a kind set is available for purchase in our online store here.
We get our ranunculus from The Flower Fields in Carlsbad. I’ve tried growing it in our garden more than once, but have failed every time. I guess not everything will grow in the high desert after all! Ranunculus must prefer the ocean breezes and humidity of the coast (sigh). We’ll be exhibiting at The Flower Fields in April, for two separate weekends. Check out our appearance calendar for more details.
